Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Thursday reported that a new variant have been identified.
The director of CDC Africa also said that the surge in cases (in Nigeria) is not due to the new variant .
This reminds me of a famous Rajinikanth (Kollywood Actor) monologue which you can imagine the latest bro telling :"Naan late-aah vanthalum, latest-aah varuven (Even if I come late, I'll be the latest in the bunch)".
Yeah , yeah it is said to be more contagious than Corona 2.2 that was identified in South Africa recently . The latest brother has not been named yet ,but the South African variant has been named 501.V2 . The director for Africa CDC also said that " the new variant has 501 mutations , though it was with limited no. of data ".
Now you might think WHY DO THEY KEEP SUCH COMPLICATED NAMES ?
Yeah guys even I've had the same doubt , why can't they name the brothers like Ramesh , Suresh , Mukesh etc. right? 😉( 5 Star Ads , No offense ) . I wonder how these scientists around the world remember such names. But there is a practical side in naming viruses guys, there are infinite number of viruses around us and just imagine naming them with a whole word? Its a nightmare right? Yeah that's the reason behind naming viruses and other micro organisms in such a 'Hard To Understand' way .And there is an International committee who name them i.e. International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses (ICTV). As per the nomenclature(i.e. naming) rules 'Every mutated version has to be named' for future purposes.
